FREDDIE MAC ANNOUNCES INITIAL INTERESTSM FIXED-RATE GOLD PC REMIC ELIGIBILITYMcLean, VA – Freddie Mac (NYSE: FRE) announced today that beginning with August 2006 settlements in its REMIC program, Initial InterestSM fixed-rate Gold Participation Certificate (PC) securities with the prefixes of H0 (10/20), H1 (15/15) and H2 (10/10) will be eligible to be used as assets to back REMIC securities. Additionally, Freddie Mac will permit Initial Interest fixed-rate Gold PC securities and regularly amortizing fixed-rate Gold PC securities with the same coupon and term to be included within the same REMIC group. This announcement is neither an offer to sell nor a solicitation of offers to buy any of these securities. Any such offering will be made only by an offering circular and offering circular supplement.
